Cougar Club of New England – BOD Descriptions
Chairman of the Board
Responsible for all aspects of the club’s operation. Provides support as needed for all of the Directors as they pursue their individual responsibilities. In addition, the Chairman shall be responsible for communicating the regular business of the Cougar Club of New England at least once every other calendar month with BOD Directors. It shall be the responsibility of the Chair of the Board to arrange such meetings and provide Directors with adequate notification.
Currently responsible for the club website and newsletter.
Vice Chair of the Board
Primarily responsible for assisting the Chairman of the Board in conducting the club’s business. In addition, the Vice-Chair assists in hosting/planning events, oversees planning of new services and helps to organize the continuing development and content of the club’s newsletter and web site. It is also the responsibility of the Vice Chair to see that the entire operation of the BOD is being conducted in the best interest of its members.
Membership Director
The Membership Director is responsible for all membership services designed to simplify club participation. Also responsible for receiving/forwarding membership funds, development of “welcome pack”, membership ID cards and numbers, coordinating renewals and maintaining and continuing the organization of the club’s membership database.
Events/Project Director
Responsible for overseeing the coordination of all club events. Duties include, but are not limited to, communication with venue owners, establishing event/project dates, set-up/breakdown of events, and any functions related to the efficient organization of club events. Continuous communication with the BOD members is imperative.
Communications Director / Records Keeper
Will establish and maintain beneficial relationships with club members, other organizations and advertisers/sponsors within the automotive world. Is the “go-to” person when communication is needed between the club and its members. Is responsible for working with the Events Director to log all event information including dates, award results, attendance records and any other notables that will help to keep accurate records for the CCNE.
Financial Director
Oversees the collection and disbursement of CCNE funds; as well as reporting on the financial status of the club to the BOD and its members. Also responsible for filing tax information on annual basis and regular record keeping.
NOTE: The role of any of the above positions shall be adjusted according to the various abilities/talents of the individual holding the position. For example, a “Membership Director” who has web design skills may be asked to assist in the development/maintenance of the clubs website.
